It’s time for a revolution

Fashion Revolution Week 2023 has just happened. This year our theme was Manifesto for a Fashion Revolution, using the 10-point manifesto to collectively reimagine a just and equitable fashion system for people and the planet. We love fashion. But we don’t want our clothes to exploit people or destroy our planet. We are coming together as a global community to bring our manifesto into reality. April 2023 marked also, 10 years since the Rana Plaza tragedy.

Remembering Rana Plaza
24th April marks 10 years since Rana Plaza. On 24 April 2013, the Rana Plaza factory building in Bangladesh collapsed in a preventable accident. More than 1,100 people died and another 2,500 were injured, making it the fourth-largest industrial disaster in history. During Fashion Revolution Week, we are #RememberingRanaPlaza and the lives lost, and demand that no one dies for fashion. As we reflect, we are both inspired by the progress made in the Bangladesh Ready-made Garment (RMG) sector and reminded of the changes still needed throughout the entire global fashion industry. Read more

The Manifesto
Back in 2018, Fashion Revolution created a manifesto that solidifies our vision of a global fashion industry that conserves and restores the environment and values people over growth and profit. Since then, over 14,000 people around the world have signed their names in support of turning our vision into reality.

As we approach a decade of campaigning for systemic change in the fashion industry, we are bringing together our global community to be curious, find out and do something around each manifesto point. From supply chain transparency to living wages, textile waste to cultural appropriation, freedom of association to biodiversity, we are sharing the solutions to fashion’s most pressing social and environmental problems. And we need you to join us.
